Joseph Lawrence: Our JM bakery was established by my grand father S.M Chettiar. He was a famous tailor for Europeans. The bakery was started with out any machinery. Bread was baked in fire wood oven. Bread was knead by hand. My father M. Joseph introduced mechanization by importing a cake mixer from Germany during the year 1968. Later he installed more machines and our production increased multifold. After my graduation I joined my family business. Society of Indian Bakers & US wheat associates taught us the latest bakery products like Donuts, Danish pastry etc. My uncle Mr. George Mudiappa, who was in Germany, was instrumental in making me a “Master Baker” in Germany. I attended several bakery courses in Germany, Switzerland & USA for Chocolate & Confectionery Technology. I was rewarded with the “Outstanding young persons award-1989” by the Junior Chamber of Commerce during the year 1989. “Excellence in bakery technology” award by The society of Indian bakers 2008. Awarded "Master Trainer" by FCISI.
